RST Transport and Sunbury Transport, both part of J.D. Irving, Limited, have once again been recognized as Top Fleet Employers of Distinction by Trucking HR Canada, marking the ninth consecutive year the companies have received the national honour.
The Top Fleet Employer program recognizes Canadian trucking fleets that demonstrate excellence in human resources leadership through strong workplace culture, employee engagement, competitive compensation and innovative training and professional development initiatives. Both fleets have proudly earned the distinction every year since 2018.
According to RST Transport General Manager Don Bonnell, the recognition reflects the dedication of employees across the organization.
“This ninth straight recognition is a reflection of the people who bring our operations to life every day. From our drivers and owner operators to our office teams, it’s their professionalism, care for one another and commitment to safety that continue to set RST apart,” said Bonnell.
Sunbury Transport General Manager Cliff Gilson said the award highlights the company’s long-term commitment to continuous improvement.
“Being named a Top Fleet Employer for the ninth year in a row speaks to the strength of our culture and our focus on continuous improvement. We invest in our people because they are the foundation of our success,” said Gilson.
The designation is considered one of the trucking industry’s most respected HR recognitions in Canada. Fleets are evaluated on recruitment and retention practices, workplace culture, compensation and benefits, training, skills development and forward-thinking HR initiatives.
All recipients will be formally recognized during the annual Trucking HR Canada Awards Gala later this fall.
