Role Overview:

Reporting to the shop supervisor, the Trailer Technician will:

• Inspect trailers and diagnose defects or failures

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance

• Replace or install components using manual and mechanical tools

• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and government regulations

• Carry out annual MTO inspections and complete repair work independently

• Handle major and minor trailer repairs (e.g., brakes, suspension, lighting)

• Lubricate and clean equipment as needed

• Perform final tests to ensure repairs are complete and equipment is operational

Desired Skills:

• Able to diagnose and repair all types of trailers

• Works safely and efficiently under pressure

• Presents themselves professionally and positively

• Strong communication skills in English – verbal and written

• Ability to read technical documents, business journals, regulations, and manuals

• Analytical skills to define problems, interpret data, and solve issues

• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset

Requirements:

• Valid Skilled Trades of Ontario Membership (310J)

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
