Montréal, November 5, 2025 — The Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC) has announced the revocation of the vehicle dealer licence held by Auto vitesse (9446-0540 Québec inc.), located at 5365, boulevard Industriel, Montréal-Nord.
The Office’s delegated president ruled that the company could not guarantee the honest and competent operation of its business activities in the public interest.
The decision, issued on October 30, 2025, found that Ms. Milane Awada acted as a front person for Mr. Hassan Dia, who was previously an administrator and shareholder of Auto Miz inc., a company whose licence had been revoked in April 2021 for selling vehicles with falsified mileage.
According to the OPC, Mr. Dia was actively involved in Auto vitesse’s operations, and at least one vehicle was sold with an inaccurate odometer reading, echoing the same deceptive practices previously identified.
The delegated president described odometer tampering as a “real scourge”, calling it one of the most harmful commercial practices for consumers — both financially and in terms of safety. He emphasized that revoking Auto vitesse’s licence was the only adequate measure to protect the public and ensure integrity in vehicle sales.
The Office reminds consumers and businesses that anyone engaged in vehicle trading or recycling in Québec must hold a valid licence and comply with all legal obligations, including maintaining a security bond to compensate consumers if necessary.
For more information, consumers are invited to visit the OPC website, which offers resources and tools to verify dealer licences and better understand their rights.
