Climbing into the WITney® truck driver simulator is more than just a demo—it’s an immersive journey into the challenges faced by professional drivers every day. From maneuvering through tight truck yards to merging into heavy traffic, the simulator replicates real-world conditions with striking accuracy: blind spots that conceal entire cars, trailers that respond to every steering movement, and the delicate art of backing into a dock with only inches to spare.

Part of the WITney® Educational Trailer, this interactive tool has been a cornerstone of the Women In Trucking Association (WIT)’s mission: promoting opportunities for women in the trucking industry, celebrating their achievements, and breaking down barriers they encounter on the road. Touring countless events across North America, the simulator transforms complex driving situations into teachable moments—instilling respect for the skill and precision the job demands.

Enhanced Experience, Same Mission

Since 2020, the WITney® Trailer has put thousands of aspiring drivers in the virtual driver’s seat, giving them a safe, hands-on introduction to truck driving in different terrains, weather conditions, and scenarios. Now, thanks to Advanced Training Systems (ATS), the simulator has received a major technological upgrade.

The improvements include multiple new training modules—highway driving, navigating tight turns, precision docking, and handling hazardous weather such as rain and snow. While the driving feel remains authentic, the updated technology is significantly faster, easier to set up, and more versatile for event use.

“Our partnership with ATS has been essential to the WITney education program,” says Jenny Fall, WIT’s Director of Driver Engagement. “The simulator continues to be the star attraction at every event, allowing us to connect with members, students, and anyone curious about trucking. With cutting-edge technology and the support of partners like ATS, we’re expanding our reach and deepening our impact every year.”
