Ottawa – October 2025

The Conservative Party of Canada is stepping up to address growing concerns in the trucking industry. Jason Groleau, Member of Parliament for Beauce, has voiced a strong commitment to improving road safety by tackling the controversial “Driver Inc.” employment model, widely criticized for skirting regulations and undermining fair competition.

“My Conservative colleagues and I are taking action for safer roads. For too long, ‘Driver Inc.’ operators have bypassed rules, compromised road safety, and hurt the competitiveness of our transport businesses,” said Groleau.

“I plan to question the Liberal government at the Standing Committee on Transport and Infrastructure about its inaction on this growing issue. Quebecers are right to be concerned.”

A first meeting has already taken place with the Association du camionnage du Québec (ACQ), marking the beginning of a series of consultations with key stakeholders in the industry. The goal: to better understand the challenges and push for meaningful policy changes.
