Canada — November 19, 2025. The federal government will conduct a nationwide test of the Alert Ready emergency alerting system today, ensuring that critical messages can be delivered quickly and reliably during real emergencies.
The test will be issued at 1:55 PM in Quebec, with each province and territory receiving the alert at a scheduled time. Messages will be broadcast on television, radio and LTE-connected wireless devices, and will clearly indicate that they are part of a test requiring no action from the public.
Alert Ready, developed in partnership with Environment and Climate Change Canada, Pelmorex, broadcasters and wireless service providers, is designed to warn Canadians of life-threatening situations such as severe weather, AMBER Alerts, environmental hazards, security threats and other emergencies.
Authorities emphasize that these routine tests are essential to maintain the reliability of the system and ensure it is ready to operate when every second matters.
Test Schedule — November 19, 2025
• Quebec: 1:55 PM EST
• Ontario: 12:55 PM EST
• Alberta: 1:55 PM MST
