OTTAWA, November 3, 2025 — The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) is keeping the pressure on the federal government as the House of Commons TRAN Committee continues hearings on Canada’s growing trucking industry crisis.
Over the past month, drivers, advocates, and industry leaders have testified about wage theft, Driver Inc. misclassification, safety issues, and the rise of an underground economy that’s hurting compliant businesses and costing Canadians millions.
The next TRAN meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 6 — watch live here.
While recent pre-budget discussions have brought progress, the CTA stresses the importance of turning promises into action, particularly through stronger enforcement against illegal employment practices and clearer accountability in the supply chain.
“The government has acknowledged the issue. Now it’s time to act,” said a CTA spokesperson.
As the national budget looms, all eyes are on Ottawa to see whether promised reforms will materialize to safeguard both workers and fair operators.
