CBSA seizes 349 kg of cocaine at Blue Water Bridge

Point Edward, Ontario – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced two major cocaine seizures at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry in Point Edward, Ontario, on August 13 and 14, 2025.

On August 13, a commercial truck arriving from the U.S. was referred for secondary inspection. Border services officers uncovered 150 kg of suspected cocaine hidden inside six boxes, with an estimated street value of $18.8 million. The driver, Gurjeet Singh, 28, of Brampton, Ontario, was arrested and turned over to the RCMP along with the drugs.
On August 14, another semi-truck was examined, leading to the discovery of 199 kg of suspected cocaine concealed in the trailer, with an estimated value of $24.9 million. The driver, Abdikadir Egal, 38, of Etobicoke, Ontario, was arrested and transferred to RCMP custody.
Both men have been charged with importation of cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The cases are currently before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.
