Colorado: Must Carry Law: Chains Requiers Starting September 1

Beginning September 1, all commercial motor vehicle drivers in Colorado are required to carry chains or approved traction devices in their vehicles.


Even if roads appear clear, mountain weather can change in an instant. During the Must Carry Lawperiod, drivers must carry chains even if the chain law is not currently active.


Failure to comply will result in fines and penalties.


Safety first – be prepared and avoid the consequences.
