Guadalajara, Mexico — Last week, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) President Maj. Erick McGuire and CVSA Executive Director Collin Mooney took part in the North American Trucking Roundtable at Expo Transporte ANPACT, one of the leading transportation industry events in North America.
During the roundtable, CVSA leaders addressed a wide range of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) enforcement topics. They provided an overview of the core components of the Level VIII Electronic Inspection, a fully digital, real-time inspection model, and discussed updates on the enhanced inspection process for autonomous CMVs, a key area as automation technologies rapidly evolve across the trucking sector.
Mooney and Maj. McGuire also traveled to Mexico City, where they met with officials from SICT/DGAF, Mexico’s federal transportation safety authority. Discussions focused on current and upcoming CMV and driver safety initiatives, as well as opportunities to strengthen cross-border enforcement collaboration throughout North America.
