Ottawa, July 28, 2025 – Starting August 1st, tolls on the Confederation Bridge linking Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick will drop significantly, from $50 to just $20. At the same time, fares on all interprovincial ferries across Atlantic Canada will be cut in half.
The initiative is part of the federal government’s broader commitment to reduce costs for Canadians, strengthen regional ties, and promote interprovincial travel and tourism. Officials say the goal is to “build one strong, Canadian economy” by making mobility more affordable and inclusive.
“This is about connecting people and provinces while reducing financial barriers. It’s a meaningful step toward a more unified and accessible Canada,” said a government spokesperson.
