Tallahassee, FL — This National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (#NTDAW), Florida is paying tribute to its 459,080 trucking professionals who play a critical role in the state’s economy and supply chain. Representing one in every 19 jobs statewide, these men and women are the driving force behind the movement of 95.4% of Florida’s manufactured goods.
To mark the occasion, partners from across the transportation and safety sectors joined together to recognize and thank drivers. Goodie bags, snacks, resources, and tokens of appreciation were distributed to drivers at various locations. Agencies including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), HNTB, and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office all contributed to the initiative.
“Day after day, Florida’s truck drivers keep our economy moving while making our roadways safer,” said organizers. “Their professionalism and dedication deserve recognition not only this week but every week of the year.”
From ensuring grocery store shelves are stocked to delivering vital medical supplies, truck drivers remain indispensable to the lives of Floridians. As the state celebrates NTDAW, the message is clear: to every driver who keeps Florida moving—thank you.
