Lansdowne, Ontario — November 2025 — A Leeds County OPP patrol stopped a truck traveling at only 57 km/h on Highway 401, which immediately raised suspicions. What officers discovered next was a long list of serious violations.

The driver had no valid commercial vehicle documentation, no hours-of-service records, and did not hold the proper class of licence. The truck was overweight, had multiple mechanical defects, and had not undergone any annual inspection or CVOR certification.

Following a full inspection by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), the vehicle was declared “unfit”, its plates removed, and a total of 18 tickets were issued to both the driver and the company — totaling $5,600 in fines.

Authorities also noted that graffiti on the truck was intentionally blurred in public photos to avoid giving the tagger any extra notoriety.

“These violations put everyone’s safety at risk. Roadside inspections are critical to keeping Ontario highways safe,” said the OPP.
