KAG Canada is marking the end of an era as Kim Miller, Executive Vice-President – Mergers and Acquisitions, officially retires after 40 years of dedication, insight, and exceptional leadership.

Kim joined L.E. Matchett Trucking as Controller in 1985, quickly realizing he was embarking on a long-term partnership. Over the years, he became a cornerstone of the organization, serving as Chief Financial Officer before taking on his most recent role overseeing Mergers and Acquisitions across Canada. His strategic mindset, versatility, and deep involvement across operations have been invaluable to the company’s evolution.
A builder of Canada’s modern bulk-transport industry
Kim played a central role in KAG Canada’s transformation—from a small Prairie trucking operation to the Canadian operating group of North America’s premier and largest bulk transportation and logistics company. His unmatched work ethic and sense of “pride in ownership” defined his leadership style from Day 1.
Known as a mentor, a friend, and a one-of-a-kind leader, Kim leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to influence the organization for years to come.
A life full of accomplishments
As the last of his era to retire within KAG Canada, Kim has already lived an extraordinary journey: living in Australia, travelling much of the world, and even piloting an airplane. His retirement promises new adventures ahead, shared with his wife June and the entire Miller family.
A heartfelt tribute
In the words of Grant Mitchell, President and Chief Operating Officer:
“Kim, thank you for your passionate approach to everything KAG, for caring deeply about our business and, most importantly, about the people who make KAG what it is today — and above all… thank you for being you.”
KAG Canada wishes Kim a well-deserved retirement filled with joy and new experiences.
