WASHINGTON, D.C. — The holiday spirit is hitting the highway! Knight-Swift Transportation, North America’s largest full truckload carrier, has been selected to haul the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, affectionately named Silver Belle.

Harvested from the Carson Ranger District of Nevada’s Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, the tree will embark on a 3,000-mile journey to Washington, D.C., making festive stops in communities along the way as part of the beloved “People’s Tree” tradition that dates back more than 50 years.

A Prestigious Role for Knight-Swift

Chosen on the recommendation of Kenworth Truck Company for its outstanding safety record and industry leadership, Knight-Swift will proudly transport this year’s tree.

“Every day, our drivers keep the economy moving by safely delivering essential goods across the country. It is an honor to take part in this national tradition and showcase the essential work of professional drivers,” said Adam Miller, CEO of Knight-Swift Transportation.

This year’s driver, Michael Porter from Swift’s Phoenix, AZ terminal, will pilot a specially decaled Kenworth T680, powered by the latest PACCAR integrated powertrain and equipped with advanced driver-assistance technology. Southwest Airlines will help transport thousands of handmade ornaments crafted by Nevadans.

A Journey Fueled by Partnership

In addition to Kenworth, Knight-Swift, and presenting sponsor 84 Lumber, dozens of organizations support the 2025 journey—including the FMCSA, American Trucking Associations, Truckload Carriers Association, and Travel Nevada—all united to share the joy and meaning of the People’s Treewith Americans nationwide.
