The case dates back to November 15, 2024, when Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a deadly two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Provincial Road 201 and Provincial Road 306, west of Altona, Manitoba. An eastbound semi-truck failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a southbound SUV. The 35-year-old female driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and her eight-year-old daughter later died in hospital.
