Ontario Northland is thrilled to mark a historic milestone — the arrival of the first Northlander trainset in Ontario.

This major achievement highlights the dedication, expertise, and teamwork that define the organization’s ongoing efforts to reconnect Northern communities through reliable passenger rail service.

The Northlander project reinforces Ontario Northland’s commitment to expanding modern, accessible, and sustainable transportation options. Over the coming months, the new trainset will undergo testing and commissioning, preparing for future service between Toronto and Timmins, with a rail connection to Cochrane.

“This milestone reflects our promise to deliver a safe, accessible, and sustainable passenger experience,” Ontario Northland stated.

As the Northlander gets ready to roll, it symbolizes more than transportation—it’s a step toward a more connected and prosperous Northern Ontario.
