OPP and Partners Conduct 25th Annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Blitz at Woodbine Mohawk Park

On October 7 and 8, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (West Region) joined forces with 12 other police services and provincial ministries for the 25th annual commercial vehicle inspection operation held at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The joint initiative aimed to enhance road safety and ensure compliance among commercial vehicles and drivers operating across Ontario.

Results of the two-day operation:

• By 517 trucks inspected

• 316 charges laid for various mechanical defects and regulatory violations

• 120 warnings issued

• 161 trucks placed out of service due to critical safety defects

• 1 driver arrested on an outstanding warrant

This large-scale safety blitz underscores the OPP’s ongoing commitment to keeping Ontario’s highways safe and holding non-compliant operators accountable.
