Ottawa Safety Blitz: 39 Inspections, 31 Charges, 19 Vehicles Out of Service

On August 26, Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation (MTO / @ONtransport) conducted a major commercial vehicle safety blitz near Moodie Drive and Fallowfield Road in Ottawa.

The results:

• 39 inspections conducted

• 31 charges laid

• 19 vehicles taken out of service

• 1 tow truck seized

Vehicles were pulled over for multiple issues, including unsecured loads, improper licences, brake and tire defects, lighting failures, broken suspensions, loose fasteners, and more.

This enforcement action highlights MTO’s ongoing commitment to keeping Ontario’s highways safe and holding commercial operators accountable for vehicle safety compliance.
