Plus Automation Inc. (“Plus”), a leader in AI-based virtual driver software for autonomous trucks, has announced a business combination agreement with Churchill Capital Corp IX (Nasdaq: CCIX). The transaction values Plus at a pre-money equity of $1.2 billion, and is expected to raise $300 million to fund the commercial launch of factory-built autonomous trucks in 2027.

Founded in 2016 in Silicon Valley, Plus is at the forefront of Physical AI, replacing traditional hand-coded driving systems with adaptable AI-powered solutions. Its SuperDrive software has already been deployed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, logging over five million miles of autonomous testing.

Key OEM partners like TRATON GROUP, Hyundai, and IVECO are set to integrate SuperDrive into next-generation autonomous trucks. These factory-built vehicles will benefit from a capital-efficient, high-margin business model based on recurring software revenue.

The company’s driver-as-a-service model, combined with collaborations with DSV, Bosch, NVIDIA, and others, positions Plus to scale its technology across global freight networks facing increasing pressure from labor shortages and rising operational costs.

The deal has been unanimously approved by both companies’ boards and is expected to close in Q4 2025. Upon closing, the merged entity will operate under the name PlusAI.
