Range Energy, a pioneer in commercial trucking electrification, announced today the expansion of its partnership with Thermo King, a leading sustainable temperature control brand under Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT). The goal: rapidly scale the adoption of electric refrigerated trailers throughout North and South America.

Building on the success of their May 2024 announcement, which integrated Thermo King’s hybrid and electric trailer refrigeration units (TRUs) with Range Energy’s eTrailer system, the companies are now expanding their collaboration. The new phase includes joint efforts in sales, distribution, installation, and service support.

Customer pilots and public demos exceeded expectations, showcasing impressive diesel reduction and energy efficiency. The companies will jointly execute marketing and outreach campaigns and leverage Thermo King’s robust dealer network for training, customer demos, and regional reach.

The collaboration includes hands-on installation of Range systems onto customer trailers and full compatibility with Thermo King TRUs. The dealer network will also offer regular maintenance, ensuring reliability and long-term performance.

“This expanded collaboration marks a significant step toward a more sustainable transportation future,” said Chris Tanaka, Vice President of Product Management, Thermo King Americas.

“Our early customer pilots laid the groundwork for this next chapter, and we’re excited to scale our innovative, driver-friendly, cost-effective solution,” said Jon Foster, CEO of Range Energy.
