Stockholm, May 21, 2025 — As the transportation world transitions to greener technologies at different speeds, Scania is stepping up with a practical solution: the Super 11 engine. Delivering up to 7% better fuel efficiency than its 9-litre predecessor, the Super 11 helps fleets reduce both costs and emissions — right here, right now.

The Super 11 is 85 kg lighter than the Super 13, giving hauliers a payload advantage, particularly for volume cargo. It can run on renewable fuels, enabling up to 90% lower CO₂ emissions than standard diesel — a major step toward more sustainable transport operations.

“We still believe electrification is the way forward,” says Scania. “But some markets simply aren’t there yet. We can’t afford to wait. The Super 11 is a bridge technology that helps customers meet today’s challenges while moving toward tomorrow’s solutions.”

Scania continues to invest heavily in battery-electric trucks and charging infrastructure, but innovations like the Super 11 prove that sustainability isn’t one-size-fits-all — and progress can be made on multiple fronts.
