WELLTON, Arizona — Border Patrol agents at the Wellton Station arrested a Somali truck driver with a prior felony conviction for sex trafficking of a minor.
On Thursday, agents encountered 33-year-old Kauser Mohamoud Yusuf at the Highway 95 immigration checkpoint north of Yuma and determined she was subject to removal from the United States.

Yusuf legally entered the U.S. in 2005 as a visa holder but later violated the conditions of her stay. In 2015, she was convicted in Minnesota of felony sex trafficking, required to register as a predatory offender, and sentenced to over seven years in prison.
An immigration judge had previously ordered her removal. She is now in federal custody pending deportation.
