Police are investigating two major thefts in Ontario involving a stolen meat load and heavy equipment.
In Windsor, the Windsor Police Service (WPS) is searching for a semi-trailer carrying 530 boxes of boneless beef chuck roast valued at US$160,000 (approx. CA$222,000). The theft occurred on Aug. 2 when suspects, driving a dark grey Jeep Rubicon and a white Freightliner Cascadia, broke into the parked truck and drove off with the load.
Meanwhile, in Douro-Dummer Township, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the theft of a truck, trailer, and two Kubota machines on Aug. 14. While a loader and pickup truck were later found abandoned, a black J&J flatbed trailer and an orange Kubota mini excavator remain missing.
Investigators are urging local residents and businesses to review surveillance or dashcam footage for possible leads.
