Cochrane, Ontario — The James Bay OPP responded to three separate collisions on Highway 11 over the past weekend as winter conditions made an early impact across Northeastern Ontario.
The first crash involved a tractor-trailer that ended up in the ditch, blocking the eastbound lane. In a second incident, a commercial motor vehicle struck both a tow truck and an OPP cruiser already on scene. A third collision occurred west of Highway 655, where another commercial motor vehicle rolled over.

All drivers involved have been charged with Careless Driving.
With winter weather now settling in, police are reminding motorists to slow down, increase following distance, and ensure their vehicles are properly prepared for snow and ice. Drivers are urged to clear all windows, avoid sudden braking, and allow extra time for travel.
For up-to-date travel information, motorists are encouraged to check road conditions at 511on.ca before heading out.
