Two weeks into his mandate, Quebec’s Transport Minister Jonatan Julien made it a priority to meet with those on the front lines. Accompanied by Ian Lafrenière, MNA for Vachon, he visited the road inspectors’ post in Vaudreuil-Dorion today.

During the visit, the Minister also sat down with Jean-Jacques Daignault, president of the inspectors’ union, and expressed his wish to see union members back patrolling Quebec roads “as soon as possible.”

Still, he emphasized the need for a methodical approach: “If we want a lasting solution, we must proceed in the right order. For the past two weeks, I have been working on this file every single day. Like our road inspectors and honest Quebec truckers, I want to put an end to the unfair competition posed by Driver Inc. But there is still work to do.”

This statement underlines the Minister’s commitment to tackling a pressing issue that touches both road safety and fairness in the trucking industry.
