As part of National Trucking Week, the Government of Canada has announced $500,000 in fundingto make the trucking industry more diverse and inclusive.

The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment and Families, confirmed that the funding will be directed to Trucking HR Canada through the Workplace Opportunities: Removing Barriers to Equity (WORBE) program.

This initiative will focus on identifying and removing barriers that prevent women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and visible minorities from thriving in trucking. Over the next year, Trucking HR Canada will evaluate HR practices, strengthen workforce data collection, and provide tools to foster diversity and inclusion across the sector.
