A Highway Enforcement Team (HET OPP) officer stopped a vehicle clocked at 146 km/h on the Hwy 407/427 corridor. During the stop, police observed readily available cannabis inside the vehicle.
A subsequent investigation revealed the two occupants were in possession of equipment used to produce identification, along with dozens of fake driver’s licences, passports, and permanent resident cards, as well as a large stack of cash and a quantity of cannabis.

Both the driver and passenger provided false names before being taken into custody. They now face dozens of fraud-related charges, as well as obstruction, cannabis, and Highway Traffic Act offenses. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
Police remind the public that identity fraud is a serious criminal offense with significant implications for public safety and financial integrity.
