Washington, D.C., July 3, 2025 — U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy unveiled a sweeping package of reforms aimed at improving the everyday lives of America’s truckers, fulfilling the promise of President Donald Trump’s Executive Order: Enforcing Commonsense Rules of the Road for America’s Truck Drivers.

The plan includes:

• Over $275 million in funding to expand truck parking, including $180 million in Floridato build 917 new spaces along I-4.

Withdrawal of the speed limiter mandate for heavy-duty trucks.

Modernization of FMCSA’s online tools and complaint systems.

Elimination of 1,800 words from federal regulations.

• A renewed crackdown on illegal double brokering.


“Truckers keep America running. Washington’s interference ends now. Thanks to President Trump, we’re putting common sense back into trucking,” said Secretary Duffy.


Industry leaders, including Chris Spear (ATA) and Todd Spencer (OOIDA), praised the measures as a significant victory for America’s 8.5 million trucking workers and the supply chain they support.
